Fashion meet cake – what’s not to love?!

A wedding cake inspired by a Sabyasachi anarkali? I loved the idea, considering how gorgeous the cake turned out to be!
A few months down the line, a Pakistan-based restaurant created a “Cake Couture” collection inspired by a powder pink bridal outfit by the famous designer, Faraz Manan.
They did a stellar job of recreating intricate embroidered details onto the 3-tier cake.
Finally, one of Joonie’s students made a STUNNING wedding cake based off of a lehenga from Sabyasachi’s Udaipur collection.
If my wedding cake can potentially look THIS beautiful, get me on this trending train!
Taking design elements from a pretty bridal outfit and recreating them on the wedding cake now seems like such a straight-forward why-didn’t-we-think-of-this-earlier idea. Because, obviously, picking elements from a high-end designer’s bridal outfit and putting it on a cake has to look good!
Full credit to Joonie & her students for coming up with this. Outfit-inspired cakes are a trend I’d love to see catch on.
It’s not just limited to your lehengas and anarkalis. If you’re getting into a stunning white wedding gown or a fusion cocktail one, your baker can pick up intricate details from the dress and recreate them on the dessert of your choice! Outfit-inspired cupcakes, anyone?
Are you inspired to have your wedding cake look like your Bridal Outfit? Or is this one trend you don’t like? Tell me in the comments!
